Message somewhat repetitive and adolecent pissing war that detracts from the great info and (predominantly) well informed imput from some members. My mistake for even reading it (not yours). But to your statement about weight transfer and squat being beneficial...squat is actually the rear wheels coming up and unloading the rear end, not the rear end sitting down and transferring weight for more traction at launch. It's like doing a push up where you are lowering your body but actually unloading the pressure you are putting to the ground. This is the characteristic of IRS suspensions, (and while some have put down great 60' times, a straight/live axle car will perform better in the first 60'), a live axle car that gets body seperation (the rear end lifts...like doing the push up part of a push up where you are coming up and pushing down at the same time) will actually transfer weight better and improve traction off the line. The best set up for our cars for drag racing seems to be a stock spring with the stock suspension set at touring in the front and sport in the rear (this allows the front to lift with rear end squat). Hope this makes sense and is of some help. Take care, Mark
